Energy Assistance

Energy Assistance
Several resources are available to help with energy bills. For assistance options, dial 2-1-1 to be connected with local support services.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

  • LIHEAP is a federal program that provides financial assistance to help qualifying low-income households with energy costs.
  • Funds are distributed through local Community Action Agencies (CAAs).
  • Members who have applied for or are receiving LIHEAP heating assistance are protected from disconnection between December 1 and March 15.
  • Members who have applied and are eligible for LIHEAP in the current calendar year may not be disconnected on days when the National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts a heat index of 95°F or higher within the next 48 hours at their service address.
