Installation of Power Line Facilities

(Poles, Anchors, Underground Conductor, and Transformer Vaults)

The method in which Parke County REMC uses to install power line facilities is to set poles and install anchors with a mechanical auger digger or install underground conductor and transformer vaults by cutting a trench with a mechanical trencher or in some cases a backhoe.

The Parke County REMC will, at the time of installation, back fill the ditch to the best of their ability depending on the terrain, weather conditions, and soil conditions. The Parke County REMC will not be responsible for any soil that might be left on a stone or gravel driveway during the trenching/backhoe procedures, or for a ditch line that may appear after the soil has settled in the ditch. The REMC will not haul additional stone or gravel to replace that which may have been lost or covered during trenching/backhoe operations.

It shall be the responsibility of the property owner to maintain the ditch line, clean off the driveway, and replace any stone/gravel if they so desire.

It shall be the responsibility of the property owner to locate any private underground wiring, water line, field tiles, or drain lines prior to the installation of poles, anchors, underground conductor, and transformer vaults. Failure to do so will result in the property owner being responsible for the repairs of each of the above-listed items should they be damaged during installation of our electric conductors. Should the REMC damage such items after they have been properly located: the REMC will make all necessary repairs at no cost to the property owner.
